5 Daily Fantasy Basketball Value Plays for 10/25/16

Injuries in the Utah frontcourt make Trey Lyles a value play on opening night. Who else can save you salary?

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays.

If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you ought to consider squeezing in one of these lower-priced options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at five players who can help fill the gaps in your lineup tonight.

Brandon Jennings, PG, New York Knicks

FanDuel Price: $4,500

Though Derrick Rose is the undisputed starting point guard for the New York Knicks' season opener, there is a chance that Brandon Jennings will cut into his minutes. During Rose's absence over the past two weeks, Jennings had an exceptional preseason with per-36 averages of 11.7 points, 8 assists, and 2.3 steals in six games. Until Rose becomes fully acclimated with his new teammates, Jennings will be susceptible to outputting a respectable value.

Courtney Lee, SG, New York Knicks

FanDuel Price: $3,900

Much like his aforementioned teammate, Courtney Lee had a commendable preseason during his limited minutes of play. Lee started all six exhibition contests and shot 59% from the field, including 6 of 10 from three-point range. Over the final two preseason games, Lee kicked it up a notch and made 12 of 15 from the field and scored 26 points in 43 minutes.

Kyle Anderson, SF, San Antonio Spurs

FanDuel Price: $3,500

Danny Green is expected to miss three weeks, which means Kyle Anderson will get a healthy boost in minutes to start the season. Anderson racked up an impressive all-around per-36 line of 11.9 points, 7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals this preseason. With tonight's game versus the Golden State Warriors expected to be a high-scoring affair (with an over/under of 212 compared to 204 and 193 for the two other games), Anderson will have an opportunity to be a big bargain player at a minimum salary.

Trey Lyles, PF, Utah Jazz

FanDuel Price: $4,000

If Derrick Favors is limited due to lingering injuries, Trey Lyles will get his shot amongst a crowded frontcourt. Lyles exemplified signs of a potential breakout season by averaging 10 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.8 three-pointers made in just 20.3 minutes in the preseason. With Gordon Hayward already ruled out for an extensive period of time with a broken finger, Lyles' scoring abilities may be called upon early and often.

Tristan Thompson, C, Cleveland Cavaliers

FanDuel Price: $4,800

Tristan Thompson will be getting his championship ring tonight, a validating symbol for his diligence. Even though Thompson isn't known to make the box score explode, he is capable of putting up a double-double on any given day, as he showed in last season's Finals series with averages of 10.3 points and 10.1 rebounds on 64% shooting from the field. With today being the season opener, look for Thompson to clean up on the boards if missed shot attempts are aplenty by the Knicks.
