Hassan Whiteside

nERD: 12.4

If this summer is the summer of Durant, this past regular season was the winter of Hassan Whiteside at times. The Heat center had a monstrous season, leading the league in blocks and Defensive Rating and was fourth in True Shooting Percentage at 62.9 percent. Whiteside wasn't even in the league three years ago, and he has gone from second-round flameout to star center about to sign a max contract.

There are those who worry about giving Whiteside all that money. Some think that once he gets his money he might stop working as hard as he does. After all, Whiteside was on a veteran team that could keep him in check last season, and he's had to overcome a lot to get where he is now. If he goes to a new team where he is expected to be a leader, it could be a problem for the 27-year-old.

However, after a season where he averaged 14.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game, it's hard to argue with any team giving him max money this offseason.
