Anthony Davis, PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Price: $10,100

This one's a bit of a gamble, and Anthony Davis should only really be considered in tournaments tonight. With his upside, though, the risk involved in his situation is worth taking on with a salary this low.

New Orleans Pelicans GM Alvin Gentry has petitioned the league to allow him to bench Davis for the remainder of the season, not wanting to risk a serious injury for a player that he only intends to trade. So far that appears unsuccessful, as Gentry says that Davis will play tonight against the Indiana Pacers.

He's far from a lock to see big minutes, and he played only 15 in his game before the All-Star break as he nursed a sore shoulder, which had forced him out of the previous game early.

The team will continue to be hyper-conservative in resting him with any sort of ailment, and we're not going to see his minutes reach the high-30s like we did earlier this season. Still, at $10,100 there's room for upside.

Davis' 1.68 FanDuel points per minute are the third-most a player has ever posted in a season (min. 250 minutes played), per StatMuse. Even if he only plays 30 minutes, that pace would be good for 50 fantasy points.

The Indiana Pacers are a tough matchup, making this spot a little bit less appealing, but unless Davis re-injures himself, we could see him play minutes closer to the 34 we saw three games ago than the sub-25 marks he played in his last two.

This risk isn't something worth taking in cash games, where we're looking for floor and certainty with no concern for ownership. But his still-strong ceiling and potential for reduced ownership makes Davis an intriguing volatile tournament play.
