3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 1/31/19

Look up NBA players with a DFS bandwagon, and you'll almost certainly come across Philadelphia 76ers guard T.J. McConnell. McConnell receives spot starts here and there, and when he does one can hear the minds of daily fantasy players across the globe jump into gear, dreaming of fitting him into their lineups.

It makes sense, as T.J. is averaging a solid 27.4 DraftKings points per game across 70 starts in his four-year career. He's generally forgotten about, however, when he's forced to sit back on the Sixers' bench. He shouldn't be an afterthought, though, as his recent stretch of play has proven.

McConnell has scored at least 20 DraftKings points in four straight and six of his past seven games. That stretch only includes one start which came this past Saturday. While scoring has been hit-or-miss, his ability to distribute the ball has buoyed his fantasy output; he has at least five assists in 8 out of his past 10 games.

He's not going to score 40 DraftKings points tonight. He's almost certainly not going to score 30, either. He's just not that type of player when coming off the bench. If you are looking for a sub-$4,000 player who can usually return at least five-to-six DraftKings points per $1,000 per game, however, then look T.J.'s way.
