James Harden, PG/SG, Houston Rockets
DraftKings Price: $13,400
Well,
even the greatest have to have a down day at some point. After scoring
70.9 or more DraftKings points in six straight contests,
Houston Rockets guard James Harden could muster "only" 55 in an embarrassing 121-93 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday night.
On
the bright side, however, he still dropped 37 points on 12-of-26
shooting (6-of-13 from deep) in only 31 minutes (he averages over 37 for
the year). Had the game actually been closer, Harden would have easily
matched his recent performances. He'll have a great shot at doing that
tonight when the Rockets head to Madison Square Garden to take on the
New York Knicks.
Some might worry as the matchup screams "blowout", but the Knicks are actually much more competitive at home. Though they are just 4-15 at MSG, they are losing by an average of just 6.3 points compared to 10.1 on the road. While Houston could certainly pull away here, they're just 7.0-point favorites, implying that Harden will likely need to head on to the court in the fourth quarter.
His $13,400 price tag makes rostering him harder to stomach than a month ago, but it's well deserved for a guy who's averaging 43.7 points (!!!) and 74.4 DraftKings points across 10 games this month. He's our highest-projected fantasy scorer of the night.
