3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 1/3/19

San Antonio Spurs forward Davis Bertans isn't necessarily the player you first think of when considering building a daily fantasy roster. Heck, he's probably not in the top 100 players on your list. No matter. There are certain times when players such as Bertans need to be considered, and tonight is one of those nights.

One of the best ways to find value in daily fantasy is by looking for increased opportunity. That should come once again for Bertans tonight as it looks like Rudy Gay will sit for a second-straight game due to a wrist injury.

When Gay missed Monday's game against the Boston Celtics, Bertans stepped up and played slightly more than 30 minutes -- by far his most playing time in a game this season. He took advantage of it, hitting 5 three-pointers en route to 27.25 DraftKings points, which equated to a return of more than 8.0 DraftKings points per $1,000.

Bertans' salary has seen a slight $400 bump for tonight -- up to $3,800 -- but our models still indicate that Bertans should be able to return solid value. We currently have him projected for 24.0 DraftKings points this evening, which would return the highest-projected value on the slate.
