3 NBA DraftKings Value Plays to Target on 12/13/18

Like a lot of daily fantasy value plays, this one comes with a caveat. The Dallas Mavericks have been without starting point guard Dennis Smith for the past four games. While he's close to returning from his wrist injury, there is a good chance he could still miss tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns.

If he does, then rookie Jalen Brunson will likely once again get the starting nod. After three quality performances in a row in which he produced at least 23.5 DraftKings points in all three, the second-round pick from Villanova fell back down to earth in last night's win over the Atlanta Hawks, finishing with just five points, two dimes, and a steal.

He'll look to bounce back tonight against a Suns team that has given up the seventh-most points per game to opposing point guards this season. His minutes -- and output -- could get a further boost if Jose Juan Barea is forced to miss any time with the ankle injury he suffered on Wednesday.

With all of the question marks surrounding the team's injuries tonight, it's not surprising that our models have Brunson projected for just 14.4 DraftKings points in 19.2 minutes. If one or both of Smith and Barea are out, expect those numbers to climb quickly.
