3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 3/8/18

Karl-Anthony Towns has a few different factors working in his favor to make him a dope tournament play on Thursday. For starters, he comes in a full $1,100 cheaper on DraftKings than on FanDuel ($10,400). This game is also the first Minnesota Timberwolves contest since Firday of last week, so Towns has had plenty of time to rest. In his career, Towns has averaged 26.3 points and 13.8 rebounds when playing on three-plus days of rest, along with 57.9% shooting from the floor and a 48.1% mark from beyond the arc. Those are all big boosts over his career numbers, so the extra rest should be a big help.

Speaking of Minnesota's most recent game, Towns was ejected in the second quarter of that one, so there could be some recency bias from game log watchers who see a "20" as his most recent DraftKings point total. Couple that with an intimidating on-paper matchup against the Boston Celtics, and KAT could see his ownership fall.

While Boston's defense has been very strong as a whole, they've sprung the occasional leak against opposing bigs. Towns in particular has had no problem with Al Horford and company, averaging 50.8 DraftKings points against them last year and putting up 61.25 DraftKings points in his first meeting with Boston this season. He had put up consecutive 60-burgers prior to his ejection, and we could certainly see another eruption tonight with Jimmy Butler still sidelined.
