Changing of the Guard

We knew it wouldn’t last long, and after just seven games since being inserted as the starting point guard in San Antonio, Dejounte Murray has seen a salary bump -- first tipping past the $5,000 mark, and then up to $6,300 the past two games.

Since sliding into the starting lineup, Murray is averaging 10 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 32 FanDuel points per game, as he continues to demonstrate his versatility as a fantasy contributor. In a game last Tuesday against the Nuggets, Murray went so far as to not make a single bucket, yet still finish with 30 FanDuel points thanks to 13 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 blocks.

“I am willing to do whatever to win,” Murray said after the game. “Just trying to lead the team as the point guard.”

Beautiful. As is Murray as a secondary backcourt option on most nights.

Although relying on his scoring isn’t necessarily a wise decision, it does provide some upside considering Murray’s so strong in other categories that when he does get going offensively, you’re sure to have strong fantasy-producing reinforcements.
