3 NBA DraftKings Studs to Target on 1/22/18

Today's slate is interesting in that there are tons of appealing studs to target in the second tier, which may leave the truly top-end options a bit overlooked. If paying all the way up for one dude today, Anthony Davis is your guy.

Davis opened the month on a tear by averaging 59.8 DraftKings points through his first six January games. He has slowed down a bit in the two most recent New Orleans Pelicans contests, but will have every opportunity to get hot once again tonight against the Chicago Bulls.

No team finds themselves in a better game script than the Pels -- their slate-leading implied team total of 116.5 points is four points higher than the next-highest total and is six points above their season scoring average. Usually, a total this high comes with significant blowout risk. That is not the case tonight, though, as the Pelicans are favored by just 6.5 points.

In addition to benefiting from a beautiful game script, Davis finds himself in a terrific individual matchup. The Bulls rank 21st in rebounding rate and have also struggled to contain opposing power forwards. Only two teams have surrendered more DraftKings points per game to opposing power forwards than Chicago this season. They allowed Davis to post 54 DraftKings points in their most recent meeting, and a repeat performance could certainly be in the cards tonight.
