DeMarcus Cousins, PF/C, New Orleans Pelicans

On any other slate, DeMarcus Cousins would be the clear top dude to pay up for. However, with both Westbrook and James Harden in good spots, Boogie may end up being a tournament pivot.

Cousins and the New Orleans Pelicans have the fourth-highest implied team total and the highest among teams without a double-digit spread. Options like Harden and Andre Drummond have very real blowout risk in their games, while this matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves should be competitive and high scoring.

Minnesota is terrible as a whole defensively (23rd in defensive efficiency), and this matchup fits Cousins quite well individually. Taj Gibson is a much better defender than Karl-Anthony Towns and will spend most of his time on Anthony Davis, while Cousins draws the defense of Towns. Towns is ranked dead last in defensive real plus-minus this season, an honor that he earned last season as well. He had no answer for Cousins in their first head-to-head matchup, allowing 71.8 DraftKings points. Cousins has one of the highest ceilings on the slate and is an exciting tournament play.
