LeBron James, SF/PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

DraftKings Salary: $10,700

After a four-game stretch in which he averaged 67.4 DraftKings points, LeBron James has hit a bit of a wall in his last two games. Perhaps he is tiring after having to carry the team through a rough opening month, or maybe it was just a two-game skid, but whatever the reason, this is an excellent buy-low opportunity, as James is unlikely to carry high ownership on a nine-game slate.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are healthy 5-point favorites in this one, and their 112 point implied team total is the fifth-highest on the slate. Their opponent, the New York Knicks, rank 24th in defensive efficiency on the year, and James has arguably the best individual matchup of any Cavalier player, as an undersized Tim Hardaway Jr. will be tasked with defending him. Hardaway posted a -1.08 defensive real plus-minus last season, which ranked 61st among 74 qualified small forwards.

James had no trouble being productive in four meetings with the Knicks last season. He nearly averaged a triple-double in said games, putting up an average line of 24 points, 12 dimes, 9 boards, and 56 DraftKings points. Two of those games were decided by 29 or more points, and it is scary to think what James' average would have been if they'd remained competitive. Assuming this one stays as close as Vegas predicts, another monster line might be coming.
