Malik Monk, SG, Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are slowly but surely approaching full strength. Michael Carter-Williams is back, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is returning and Nicolas Batum is getting close to doing the same. Normally, that should spell trouble for a rookie like Malik Monk, but Monk's role should be safe for the time being. With Julyan Stone still sidelined, Monk played more than 26 minutes to Carter-Williams' 20 last time out, so it's clear that Dwayne Bacon will be the one losing time.

Batum's return is coming quickly, which should set off alarms for Monk to seize the last of his opportunity. The Boston Celtics could also opt to play a lot of small ball without Al Horford. That could certainly lead to more minutes for Monk as he looks to repeat Tuesday's 21-point outburst.
