Bradley Beal, SG, Washington Wizards

DraftKings Salary: $8,300

Bradley Beal's price has risen to a point that we are not used to seeing over the past few years, but his play has certainly reflected it. He's averaged 50.9 DraftKings points ove his past three games, during which he has a 33.4% usage rate. John Wall missed the last Washington Wizards game, which forced Beal to be even more aggressive. The game notes for tonight have Wall as probable, so there's a good chance he suits up. It is still a situation worth monitoring as we get closer to tip-off, though.

Even if Wall were to suit up, this matchup suits Beal quite well, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him keep the hot streak going. The Dallas Mavericks are one of the league's worst defensive teams, ranking second-to-last in defensive efficiency. They've been especially poor at defending the pick and roll, allowing more points per possession to opposing ball handlers in that situation than any team in the league. While you'd expect Wall to be the one to benefit from this, Beal has actually been far superior, averaging 1.33 points per possession in the pick and roll, as opposed to Wall's 0.69.

Of his total points scored, 31.6% have come as a ball handler in the pick and roll, while his 70% effective field goal percentage in that role is the highest among qualified players.

There are still reasons for concern for Beal at this elevated price tag, though, which leaves him as more of a high-upside tournament play than a cash-game lock. The potential return of Wall would certainly put a damper in his outlook. Also, the 10.5-point spread against Dallas is scary from a blowout perspective. Be sure to get some exposure, but don't think he is a lock for the 41.5 DraftKings points his salary requires of him.
