Mariners trade Ramon Flores to Brewers for Luis Sardinas

The Seattle Mariners acquired second baseman Luis Sardinas from the Milwaukee Brewers for outfielder Ramon Flores.

What It Means:

The Mariners acquired Flores this July in the Dustin Ackley trade with the New York Yankees. Flores suffered a compound ankle fracture in mid-August and missed the final month-and-a-half of the season, but he's expected to be healthy for spring training. The Brewers initially acquired Sardinas as part of the Yovani Gallardo trade to the Texas Rangers in January.

Flores played just 12 games at the major league level this season -- all with the Yankees -- and hit .219/.219/.250 with one extra-base hit and four strikeouts to no walks. His numbers in the minors are much better as he hit .308 in 328 Triple-A at-bats with the Yankees' and Mariners' affiliates this season. Sardinas had a poor year at the plate, hitting just .196/.240/.216 with one extra-base hit in 36 games played. He doesn't offer any fantasy value in 2016.
