Matt Holliday inks minor league deal with Rockies
The Colorado Rockies have signed free-agent outfielder Matt Holliday to a minor league contract.
The 38-year-old Holliday has not played this season after spending 2017 with the New York Yankees. He will report to Tripe-A on Sunday as he works his way back into playing shape. Holliday could provide an experienced bat off the bench as the Rockies make a run for the playoffs in a wide-open National League.
Holliday batted .231 with a .748 OPS, 19 homers, and 54 RBI over 427 plate appearances with the Yankees last season.
