Felix Hernandez lands on Mariners' disabled list with sore back
Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Felix Hernandez has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 7, with back soreness.
Mariners beat writer Ryan Divish tweeted that the team is expected to use the All-Star break to give Hernandez some extended rest. The 32-year-old right-hander is 8-7 through 19 starts this season. Fellow righty Nick Rumbelow was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding roster move.
Hernandez is averaging 24.7 FanDuel points per start while recording a career-worst 5.13 ERA with 87 strikeouts and 37 walks across 105 1/3 innings.
