Astros place Yulieski Gurriel on paternity leave
Houston Astros first baseman/designated hitter Yuli Gurriel is not in the lineup Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Gurriel has been placed on the paternity list due to the birth of his child, and he is expected to miss three days. Tyler White is in the lineup at first base and hitting seventh on Thursday. The Astros also recalled first baseman A.J. Reed in a corresponding move.
Our models project Gurriel for a .292 batting average with 7 home runs, 36 runs scored, 34 RBI, and 4 steals over 280 plate appearances remaining this season.
