Nationals to place Stephen Strasburg (shoulder) on DL

Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg will be placed on the disabled list, reports Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post.

What It Means:

Nationals manager Dave Martinez called Strasburg's injury shoulder inflammation. He'll likely miss a start or two while he takes a stint on the 10-day DL. The 29-year-old had undergone an MRI on his injured shoulder Saturday morning. A corresponding move has not yet been announced.

Having left after just 2 innings on Friday, Strasburg is 6-6 with a 3.46 ERA and 95 strikeouts on the season.
