Mike Soroka placed on Braves’ disabled list with shoulder strain, Max Fried called up for Thursday start
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka was placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 14, with a right shoulder strain.
This is the type of injury that will likely take longer than the minimum 10 days to recover from. Max Fried was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding roster move and will start in Thursday night’s series finale against the Chicago Cubs.
Soroka is averaging 27.0 FanDuel points in three starts this season while recording a 3.68 ERA and 1.70 WHIP with 15 strikeouts and 4 walks across 14 2/3 innings.
