Giants' Johnny Cueto reportedly sidelined 6 weeks with elbow sprain
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Johnny Cueto is expected to miss 6 weeks with a right elbow sprain, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
Cueto fortunately avoided a tear and shouldn't need surgery, but the 32-year-old right-hander will be missed in the Giants' rotation after a brilliant start to the year. Other reports suggest he's looking at an 8-week absence, meaning Cueto could potentially be out until the beginning of July.
Prior to landing on the DL, Cueto was nothing short of excellent, twirling a 0.84 ERA and 0.69 WHIP with 26 strikeouts and a spotless 3-0 record across 32 innings of work.
