Yadier Molina (groin) out a month for Cardinals after surgery
St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina had surgery on his injured groin Saturday night and is expected to miss a month, according to Jose de Jesus Ortiz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Molina was hit in the groin by a foul tip on Saturday night, and unfortunately for the Cardinals he'll likely be out until June. St. Louis should recall Carson Kelly to help fill the void at catcher, while Francisco Pena should help platoon behind the plate until Molina is healthy.
Before going down on Saturday, our models project Molina for a .276 batting average with 10 home runs, 37 runs scored, 42 RBI, and 5 steals over 318 plate appearances remaining this season.
