Dodgers' Corey Seager to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager will undergo Tommy John surgery for a torn right ulnar collateral ligament and miss the remainder of the season.
Seager dealt with an elbow injury towards the end of the 2017 campaign but this comes as a complete shocker and crushing loss for the reigning National League champs. The Dodgers recalled Breyvic Valera from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding roster move and Chris Taylor is starting at shortstop in Monday's series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Seager averaged 9.0 FanDuel points in 26 games this season while recording a .267/.348/.396 slash with 2 home runs, 13 RBI, and 13 runs scored across 115 plate appearances.
