Eric Thames tears UCL in left thumb, lands on Brewers' disabled list
Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a torn UCL in his left thumb.
Thames made an early exit from Tuesday night's 5-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals and this is the sort of injury that could sideline the first baseman for as many as two months. Jesus Aguilar is starting at first for Milwuakee on Wednesday and reliever Brandon Woodruff has been recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Thames is averaging 11.0 FanDuel points per game this season while posting a .976 OPS with 7 taters and 13 RBI through 74 plate appearances.
