Mariners' Taylor Motter will head back to the bench Friday

Seattle Mariners infielder Taylor Motter will head back to the bench on Friday night.

What It Means:

Motter stepped in for Dan Vogelbach on Wednesday against the Royals. The third-year player has never hit above the Mendoza Line. He will likely be heading back to Triple-A Tacoma when Nelson Cruz returns from the disabled list.

Motter's .300 OBP would be the highest of his career if the season ended today. Of course, that has come in only 10 plate appearances.
