Royals' Johnny Cueto hit hard in no-decision
Kansas City Royals pitcher Johnny Cueto was hit hard in a no-decision against the Houston Astros in Friday's Game 1 of the ALDS, allowing four runs on seven hits over his six frames.
Cueto punched out five while walking three on the afternoon. The Astros jumped on him from the get-go, doing all of their damage in the first three frames. To Cueto's credit, he was able to settle down and keep the Astros off the board the next three innings, giving the Royals a chance to come back.
This continues a bad stretch for cueto, who only struck out 6.08 per nine innings with a 4.38 xFIP after the All Star Break. With Yordano Ventura expected to take the hill in Game 4, Cueto would line up to work in Game 5.
