Matt Holliday returns to Yankees' bench for ALCS Game 2
New York Yankees first baseman/left fielder Matt Holliday is absent from the starting lineup for Game 2 of the ALCS.
Manager Joe Girardi has decided to insert Chase Headley back into the lineup in the DH spot, leaving Holliday to hit from the bench on Saturday. While he does so, Headley will hit ninth against Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros.
In his only 3 plate appearances of the postseason, Holliday went 0-for last night against the Astros' Dallas Keuchel. The 37-year-old is a .245 hitter for his postseason career.
