Oakland's Matt Olson (hamstring) likely done for the year
Oakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson (hamstring) is likely done for the season, according to Susan Slusser of MLB.com.
A's manager Bob Melvin expects Olson's hamstring strain to take about a week to heal, meaning the rookie slugger is all but finished for the season. He will go for an MRI to get an 'official' diagnosis but don't expect to see Olson play again this season.
The rookie came on strong down the stretch, swatting 24 home runs in just 216 plate appearances this season. Olson likely finished with a .259 batting average and .421 wOBA in 2017.
