Jake Arrieta

Jake Arrieta (hamstring) likely to return Thursday for Cubs

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (hamstring) is in line to return to the Cubs' rotation Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

What It Means:

Arrieta made it through a bullpen session on Tuesday and if he is cleared Wednesday, he'll be the scheduled starter for Thursday against Milwaukee. Arrieta's last start came on September 4, so it adds up to about 2 1/2 weeks missed for the Cubs' starter.

Our models project Arrieta to post a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP, with 8 strikeouts over 10.0 innings remaining this season.
