Andrew Miller (knee) to be activated from Indians' DL on Thursday
Cleveland Indians reliever Andrew Miller (knee) is on track to be activated from the disabled list on Thursday, pitching coach Mickey Callaway confirmed Wednesday.
Miller made it through pitchers fielding practice pain-free and he threw a successful 30-pitch simulated game on Monday, so he's ready to go. The 32-year-old left-hander was placed on the disabled list on August 22 with patella tendinitis.
Prior to injury, Miller posted a dominant 1.65 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and 37.3 strikeout percentage through 48 appearances this season. He's projected for a 1.38 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 9 strikeouts over the remainder of the year.
