Rockies' Kyle Freeland diagnosed with left shoulder contusion after early exit
Colorado Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland has been diagnosed with a left shoulder contusion after being lifted from Monday's start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Freeland exited in the fourth inning after he was struck by a line drive in the neck/shoulder area. The 24-year-old left-hander was able to walk off the field after hitting the deck and spending some time with trainers, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be able to make his next start. Prior to leaving, Freeland was charged with 2 earned runs on 3 hits with a strikeout and 4 walks over three frames.
For the season, Freeland owns a 4.03 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 15.7 strikeout percentage while going 11-10 across 149 2/3 innings (27 starts).
