Rays' Chris Archer (forearm) has no structural damage
Tampa Bay Rays orthopedic surgeon Koco Eaton confirmed Monday that starting pitcher Chris Archer has no structural damage in his right forearm.
Archer was forced from his start in the first inning over the weekend, after giving up home runs to the first two batters of the game. It didn't look good at the time, but the good news is he has been cleared of any major damage. Archer will play catch on Tuesday to see if he will be good to go for his scheduled start on Friday.
Coming into his start on Saturday, our models projected Archer to post a 3.27 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, with 38 strikeouts over 35 2/3 innings remaining this season.
