Phillip Ervin out as Reds take on Atlanta
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Phillip Ervin is not in Friday's lineup against the Atlanta Braves.
Ervin, just recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, went 3-for-4 with a home run, 4 RBI and a walk on Thursday in the first start of his major league career. He will be available off the bench in tonight's series opener while Jesse Winker handles right field for Cincinnati and bats seventh versus Braves right-hander R.A. Dickey.
numberFire's models project Ervin for a .250 plate appearance in only 9 more plate appearances in 2017, but that will change if Ervin manages to stick around on the big league roster.
