Rockies' Chad Bettis (cancer) likely for Monday debut
Colorado Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis is likely to make his season debut Monday night against the Atlanta Braves, according to The Denver Post's Nick Groke.
Bettis, who has missed the entirety of the season after undergoing treatment for testicular cancer, was originally set to debut on Sunday in Miami. However, the Rockies want his return to come at home so he'll face the Braves at Coors Field on Monday night.
In 4 rehab starts at Triple-A Albuquerque, Bettis went 0-3 with just 5.3 strikeouts per 9 and a not-so-promising 5.10 FIP. He's projected for a 2-3 record, 30 strikeouts and 26 earned runs with Colorado the rest of the year.
