Twins' Glen Perkins was unavailable Wednesday due to back stiffness
Minnesota Twins closer Glen Perkins was unavailable Wednesday due to back stiffness.
He's been on again off again over the past week, and Twins' manager Paul Molitor has used Kevin Jepsen in the closer's role. With the Twins in the thick of the wild card race, they'll be doing everything possible to get Perkins back.
We still like Perkins to regain his role in short order, projecting him to finish with seven more save, as well as a 13:3 strikeout to walk ratio. Jepsen may still be valuable as a handcuff to the fragile Perkins, though, and you should own him as long as the Twins have confidence in the Tampa Bay Rays' former set-up man.
