Nationals send Blake Treinen to the Athletics
Washington Nationals reliever Blake Treinen has been traded to the Oakland Athletics, along with pitcher Jesus Luzardo and third baseman Sheldon Neuse, for relievers Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson.
What It Means:
Treinen started the season as the Nats closer but fell out of favor quickly. He finished 3-for-5 in save chances with a 5.73 ERA with Washington this season. He will likely be used as a setup man for the A's this season.
