Nelson Cruz expected to remain with Mariners past deadline
Seattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz won't be traded, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
The Mariners sit at 43-47 on the season after they entered the break on a 4-10 skid, but according to Morosi, they won't be sellers at the deadline. Cruz is slashing .292/.372/.520 with 17 home runs, 70 RBI, and 42 runs scored in 344 plate appearances (85 games) this season.
numberFire's models project Cruz to bat .294 with another 14 taters and 44 RBI in 287 plate appearances over the remainder of the year.
