Giants hoping Johnny Cueto (ear) makes start this weekend
The San Francisco Giants hope that starting pitcher Johnny Cueto (ear) will be able to make a start at some point this weekend.
Due to an inner ear infection, Cueto was scratched from his scheduled start Thursday night against the Detroit Tigers. The pitcher cited dizziness as the main reason for his absence. Chris Stratton made the start in his stead. Cueto is set to be re-evaluated on Friday and should start one of the Giants' weekend matchups with the Miami Marlins.
In 17 starts, Cueto is 6-7 with a 4.55 FIP. He ranks 35th among all pitchers with a 2.86 nERD and is projected for 6 more wins the rest of the season, according to our models here at numberFire.
