Kris Bryant exits Cubs' game with possible ankle injury
Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant left Wednesday's game against the Washington Nationals due to a possible right ankle injury.
Bryant caught a foul pop up in the fifth inning right at the third base bag, but then turned his right ankle after taking a step on the bag while walking back into the infield. He was noticeably limited while he subsequently trudged to the clubhouse with the trainer. The Cubs will update on the severity of the injury soon.
Our models projected Bryant to continue this season with another 348 plate appearances at a .280 batting average with 16 more home runs, 54 runs, 49 RBI, and 6 stolen bases. Depending on the severity of the injury (it seems minor), those projections may change.
