Rio Ruiz back on the Braves' bench for Thursday's game
Atlanta Braves third baseman Rio Ruiz is not in the team's starting lineup against the San Francisco Giants.
Ruiz received the start Wednesday night, but he'll go back to the bench upon the return of Brandon Phillips. Meanwhile, Johan Camargo will man third and bat eighth for the Braves.
Ruiz is slashing just .175/.264/.288 in 2017. He hasn't enjoyed much success, and our numbers don't think it will get much better as the third baseman is projected for a .217 average for the remainder of the year.
