Jon Lester leads Cubs to victory over Mets on Tuesday
Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Jon Lester was fantastic in Tuesday's win over the New York Mets, allowing just one run on five hits over seven innings.
Lester struck out 10 batters and walked only one in a truly impressive game for the veteran southpaw. Yoenis Cespedes got him with an RBI double in the first, but after the first inning, Lester retired 17 of the next 18 batters he faced.
Our models project Lester to post a 3.67 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 109 strikeouts over 120.2 innings remaining this season.
