Giants' Madison Bumgarner (shoulder) on track to resume mound work next week

San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner (shoulder) is on track to begin throwing off a mound next week.

What It Means:

Bumgarner has been sidelined since April 21 with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain. He has been playing catch since last Tuesday, and his recovery is progressing nicely. He is still at least a month out from returning to major league action though.

Bumgarner opened the 2017 season with a 3.00 ERA, 3.30 SIERA, 25.0 percent strikeout rate, 3.6 percent walk rate and 1.07 WHIP through 4 games (27 innings pitched).
