Cardinals' Kolten Wong (elbow) beginning rehab assignment, could be activated Friday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Kolten Wong is set to begin his rehab assignment with Low-A Peoria on Tuesday.
Wong is expected to play in at leas three rehab games, which would leave him available to be activated as soon as Friday after missing over a week with a left elbow strain. His return will likely send Paul DeJong back to the bench.
Across 157 plate appearances this season, Wong is slashing .278/.378/.414 with 16 RBI's and 18 runs scored.
