Giants plan on Madison Bumgarner (shoulder) to begin throwing Friday
San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner (shoulder) could begin a throwing program on Friday.
Bumgarner's injuries have nearly healed now it is time for him to get back into playing shape. By starting throwing on Friday, he starts the likely two-month process towards returning to big league action. Bumgarner is expected to need five rehab appearances before being activated from the disabled list at the end of July at the earliest.
numberFire's algorithms project MadBum for just 53 2/3 innings pitched the rest of the season with a 3.68 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 48 strikeouts.
