Mets' Jacob deGrom tosses seven scoreless in win over Angels

New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom fired seven scoreless innings in a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.

What It Means:

DeGrom struck out nine and cruised into the seventh inning, but he came down with a blister issue on his right ring finger before loading the bases with nobody out. He managed to escape without a run scoring, but was yanked after that. DeGrom will take on the San Diego Padres next in another home start.

De Grom's ERA improved from 4.07 to 3.56 with the victory. In 55 2/3 innings pitched, he has a 32.3 percent strikeout rate and 9.8 percent walk rate.
