Adam Wainwright delivers seven shutout innings for Cardinals

St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright tossed seven shutout innings in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Chicago Cubs.

What It Means:

Wainwright pitched with runners on base all day as he allowed four hits and four walks but managed to escape any trouble against a tough Cubs' lineup. The veteran pitcher had a bit of an issue locating his pitches as he threw only 56 of his 102 pitches for strikes while fanning just three batters.

Wainwright owns a 5.31 ERA through 42 1/3 innings pitched this season but has been a bit unlucky as he has a 3.80 FIP and batters have a .390 BABIP against him.
