Cubs expect to get Jason Heyward (finger) back this week
Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward (finger) is expected to be activated from the disabled list shortly after he is eligible on Tuesday, according to manager Joe Maddon.
What It Means:
Heyward landed on the 10-day disabled list on May 8 (retroactive to May 6) when he sprained his finger fielding. His return will remove Albert Almora from the starting lineup.
Heyward has enjoyed a modest bounce-back start after his disastrous 2016 season. He is hitting .253/.333/.364 with 3 home runs, 17 RBI's, and 11 runs scored in 111 plate appearances so far in 2017.
