Shawn Kelley (back) makes simulated appearance for Washington
Washington Nationals reliever Shawn Kelley (back) made a simulated appearance Wednesday at Nationals Park.
Kelley appeared to be throwing at full strength, according to multiple beat reporters. If there's no lingering soreness Thursday, then he should be activated when eligible on Friday. He will likely split ninth-inning duties with Koda Glover (hip), who is also due back from the disabled list this weekend.
Kelley owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 31.0 strikeout percentage across 10 innings this season. He has three saves in four chances.
