Washington Nationals reliever Shawn Kelley (back) threw a successful bullpen session Monday.
What It Means:
Kelley should be ready once he becomes eligible for activation from the disabled list on Friday. He figures to take back over closing duties for Washington, but nothing is guaranteed. Koda Glover (hip) is also due back from the disabled list at the end of the week.
Kelley owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 31.0 strikeout percentage across 10 innings this season. He has three saves in four chances.
