Mets play it safe, push Jacob deGrom (neck) back to Saturday

New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom's next start has been pushed back a day to Saturday due to a stiff neck, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

What It Means:

The Mets are more than likely just erring on the side of caution. Matt Harvey will start tonight's series opener instead against right-hander Tanner Roark and the Washington Nationals. deGrom and Gio Gonzalez will square off on Saturday.

deGrom owns a 1.89 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 30.6 strikeout percentage across 19 innings (three starts) this season.
